Proudly ProMama Fair Embraces Motherhood
Expectant women were given the royal treatment as they were pampered with free massages and foot spas, received nutritional advice, and got tips on how to dress their best at the Proudly ProMama Fair recently held at the Glorietta Activity Center.
Pregnancy is a time of great change as moms-to-be prepare themselves to receive the greatest gift of all – a healthy baby. To help expectant women embrace the gift of motherhood, Wyeth’s nutritional milk drink ProMama, in cooperation with The Spa, and its other mommy and baby friendly partners Gingersnaps, Anja and Nail It have created an exciting all-day event designed to have women looking and feeling their best during their 9-month journey.
The event celebrated motherhood with a variety of fun activities featuring booths for beauty, health and fashion. The Pro-Beauty booth with partners The Spa and Nail it gave women great skin advice and pampering services. At the Pro-Health booth, nutritionists helped them learn all about dos and don’ts in eating during their pregnancy. The latest maternity pieces from Gingersnaps and Anja were on display at the Pro-Fashion Booth, helping them look fabulous.
More interesting facts about pregnancy were shared during the day. Hosted by parenting expert Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan, moms-to-be along with infanticipating celebrity guests Cheska Garcia, Danica Sotto and Angelu De Leon were treated to talks from beauty experts, The Spa and Nail it, and advice on the right food practices during their pregnancy from a Wyeth Nutritionist. A fun fashion show that ended with the fabulous transformation of selected guests at the fair capped the program. And to help expectant women embrace the gift of motherhood, guests were introduced to ProMama, Wyeth Philippines’ nutritional milk drink designed for pregnant and lactating women.

On Classes Suspension & Taking Kids To School Or Not On A Bad Weather
Mind you, this only happens in the Philippines. I don't know their policy in other countries but its kinda funny in an ironic way that our country depends on unreliable weather prediction from PAGASA and too late a hero announcement from government school authorities like DepED and CHED for class suspension on a bad weather like this week.
Just today, the Department of Education announced class suspension on afternoon classes after announcing an early dismissal on morning classes in the National Capital Region. It is actually too late, the kids in the morning class braved the bad weather, getting their school bags, notebooks and books, shoes and themselves soaking in the hard rain! The afternoon class kids are already on their way to school and are already wet just the same.
Parents, when it comes to deciding if you are going to send your kids to school or not do you still depend on these unreliable government agencies?
Personally, I don't.
I know better, I know what's best for my kids so I don't wait for them to tell me what to do or not.
Some argue that the kids grades will be affected if I don't send my child to school even if there's no class suspension.
Solution:
1) Get your kids teachers numbers and send them a text message that you won't take your kids to school for such reason. If you see that the weather is so unpredictable to the point of foreseeing it to be a hassle to the kids and you as a parent to send them to school .
2) Ask the teacher via text what will be the agenda in school today (lesson) and if there will be homework so you can tell your child to study this lesson and do his/her homework too.
3) If texting is not an option next time the weather is better, go with your kids to school and talk to his/her teachers and ask for consideration, ask for the lessons the child needs to catch-up with so being an absent won't necessarily affect the kids grades.
On a bad weather like this, its very possible that kids will pick-up viruses that spreads around and eventually get sick. Parents don't want this to happen.
Be the responsible parent. You decide!

Nivea Baby Pure & Natural Wipes Review
More often or not, public restrooms don't have tissue in them so its always important for us moms to bring our own tissue , wipes and sanitizers to make sure our kids are protected from germs when they use the public restrooms.
There's so many baby wipes and wet tissue out in the market now but some of them contain harsh chemicals which are not safe for our baby.
When I got this NIVEA Baby Pure & Natural Wipes I was excited because it claims that its 100% biodegradable and 100% flushable!
Product info:
Moistened with organic chamomile to gently cleanse and soothe with the power of nature. The biogradable and flushable wipes are based on natural cotton for the most gentle baby care. It contains organic chamomile, alcohol and parabens free and no perfume added!

- I think the price of Php150.00 per pack of 50pc is kinda expensive for a common consumer. But if organic is always expensive, safe and environment friendly so what's a little extra amount for all the good stuff right?
- Mommies can also use it for their private and makeup :)

Mommy Diaries
This weekend Multiply Philippines is holding a 2-day lifestyle and wellness expo The Mommy Diaries on May 28-29, 2011 at the NBC Tent, Bonifacio Global City.
There will be 150 booths featuring apparel, accessories, personal care products, household items, children’s items, baby products and food items all under one roof, this will definitely be a one-stop shop and place to be for all deserving mommies!
Aside from that there will also be special cooking shows and demonstrations, talks by pediatricians and psychologists, special treats and entertainment for the kids, as well as a raffle drawing.

On Jan Jan and Willie Revillame Issue
I think the child rights advocates who filed a case against Jan Jan's parents and Willie Revillame for the Child Abuse issue are going over board. Yesterday, I heard they want to take Jan Jan away from his parents and have him in DSWD custody. Are they insane? Are they human? Where is their heart? Whose cause are they fighting for? Whose right they are fighting for? If they have something against Willie Revillame's show or as a person go attack the guy in any possible way you can, but to go overboard and get a kid away from his parents just to hurt Willie is too much.
If they are really for Jan Jan's sake, instead of taking him away from his parents and give the kid a traumatic experience of having to live in a god forsaken DSWD shelter and being separated from his parents, give the parent and Jan Jan a lasting solution.
1) They can give Jan Jan's parent a stable job or a livelihood that they no longer have to hope that Jan Jan will pull them away from the miserable life they have. They don't need to put the responsibility of raising a well-off family out of Jan Jan being a celebrity.
2) Give Jan Jan a scholarship grant until he finish college so the parents will no longer have to worry about where to get his tuition and that he no longer wishes to be an artista nalang so he can earn a lot of money for his family.
3) Have Jan Jan's parents attend a regular counseling and guidance seminar to keep them on the right track.
Having his parents in jail will not do good for Jan Jan but will cause him more trauma thus not protecting the rights of this child.
