Nivea Baby takes 1st Step to Caring Beyond Skincare at Dr. Fabella Memorial Hospital
NIVEA BABY’s 1st Step campaign celebrates the thrust of providing the mildest skincare protection for every baby right from the start. It takes the very first moments that babies and their mothers experience together, and emphasizes that proper skincare should be given at the very beginning.
Starting from hearing that first cry, to seeing that first smile, and sharing that first touch, NIVEA BABY aims to encapsulate the great firsts of parenthood. However, the brand acknowledges that there is a larger segment of families who barely manage due to limited resources. In light of this, NIVEA BABY takes the 1st Step to Caring Beyond Skincare as it extends its belief of mildest protection beyond caring for baby’s skin.
Known as the center of excellence in affordable maternity healthcare, Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital attends to over 55 births per day. Despite having sparse supplies and limited amenities, Fabella tries to accommodate as much expectant mothers as they can every day. However, the safety, healthy and comfort of the newborns and their mothers can be compromised due to the lack of space and proper infrastructure.
NIVEA BABY spearheads Caring Beyond Skincare to help Fabella’s babies and mothers experience their first joys within a more caring and comfortable environment. Shedding light to this bleak situation where newborns swelter inside the stuffy, hot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and postnatal mothers are forced to breastfeed on barely-cushioned benches, NIVEA BABY is making change happen. This all starts with the transformation of the hospital’s maternity wing through a three-month renovation program.
“NIVEA Baby is committed to ensuring that babies and mothers get the mildest care and protection – and we are extending this to Fabella Hospital. Through the Caring Beyond Skincare project, we will provide a program that will give moms and their babies a brighter experience,” shares Jon Lee, Assistant Brand Manager for NIVEA BABY.
As part of the program, NIVEA BABY will dress up the maternity wing, and provide equipment and facilities such as improving the breastfeeding room, installing proper ventilation for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, fixing the waiting area and setting up basic sanitation areas. The rehabilitation will start this October, and the turnover of the area is expected to happen in December.
“Bearing a child and giving birth are two of the most life changing experiences of motherhood. Mothers worry for their baby’s health and do everything they can afford to protect their baby. NIVEA BABY is about giving mothers the promise of mildest protection and care for their baby’s skin. But our commitment at Fabella goes further. We recognize the great work of Fabella, and that is why we assist their dedicated support of mothers and their newborns by giving them a more caring and protective environment,” ends Alexander Schwieger, Country Manager for NIVEA Philippines.

Online Nurse Practitioner Program
An individual who wants to become a nurse practitioner needs to find a school that fulfills his or her needs and expectations. One of the first things to look at is the school's tuition. If a person is unable to pay the tuition, he or she should check to see if the school offers financial assistance. Here are some other things to consider when looking for a nurse practitioner study program.
A prospective student should look at a school's faculty. Who teaches the courses in the nurse practitioner program? Ideally, a student will want to be taught by instructors with real life experience in the field. These kinds of instructors can offer invaluable information on what it is like to work in the occupation of nurse practitioner. For instance, they can give students tips on how to calm down anxious patients or explain medical procedures in a way that non-medical people can understand. After graduating, a student can refer to this information and use it on a daily basis in his or her work.
A nurse practitioner program should have a favorable reputation with employers. In short, a prospective student can check the statistics on how many of the graduates of the program are hired by well-known physician's offices and hospitals. A school that is looked upon favorably by employers is helpful to students when it's time to apply for a job.
Another feature to consider when it comes to finding a suitable nurse practitioner program is a career resource center. A school should be willing to help a student find work once he or she graduates. The staff working at a school's career resource center should be able to help students arrange for job interviews and even help with writing a resume. A career resource center also has plenty of information in the form of books and articles on how to find the right environment to work in as a nurse practitioner.
Finally, a student studying to be a nurse practitioner today has more choices than in days past. For instance, the person can study at a traditional school or find an online nurse practitioner program to participate in. An online program is especially convenient to students who have full-time jobs to hold down while they're pursuing the education that will help them start a new career. A person must evaluate the pros and cons of both educational paths.

Your Time Is As Precious as Others: Philippine Standard Time
I wrote at Earthlingorgeous.com about my take On Philippine Standard Time & National Time Consciousness Week because yesterday a PR pissed me off when he asked where was my representative on their event that was suppose to happen at 6PM according to the invite. Well, he texted at 8:45PM and he said their event started at 8PM . I wouldn't blame that representative for leaving after an hour or hour and 30minutes after the 6PM call time because they are the ones who were late.
Anyway, I hope people in the Philippines start respecting time and the people they are about to meet and not to tolerate tardiness because it is not a good habit. A bad habit we all in the Philippines have to break.
This is also the same reason the Philippine government put into law the Philippine Standard Time so as to curb that bad habit of tardiness and early time out at work because it hampers in the productivity of the company.
Productivity is a major concern for many companies. Some businesses want to take a hardline approach to managing productivity while others would like to find ways to incentivize good, productive behaviors. Understanding the underlying cause of productivity problems in the workplace is the first step to improving it throughout the organization. Here are the several things that impact productivity levels in the business.
Tardiness is one of the most commonly reported problems in the workplace. Each year, employees get paid for hours of work they haven't performed, essentially giving themselves a raise. According to research, companies have thrown away billions of dollars each year when it comes to chronic tardiness. Companies are using tools like the biometric time clock at Timeclockeshop.com can eliminate productivity problems with businesses.
One report showed that attendance problems like absenteeism can really take a toll on the average business. According to the research, American employers lose $153 billion each year in productivity because of absenteeism. Wellness programs have encouraged employees to take better care of their health to improve attendance rates among employees.
Social media has also been considered a major productivity problem in some companies. Idle or less productive employees can fall into certain patterns, engaging regularly in social media during work hours. The introduction of tablets and smart phone devices really do have an impact on overall employee productivity, some research states. Attitude has been found to take away from employee productivity. Attitude can affect multiple areas of the business. Teamwork issues, the employee turnover rate and downsizing can all lower productivity. In environments where change is constant, attitude can really have a negative impact on the team dynamics and environment. Team-building exercises and changes in the managerial approach can really make employees more productive and leave them feeling empowered.
As companies look to solutions and different managerial approaches to boost employee morale and eliminate attendance problems, they must walk a fine line. Companies must continue to look for creative ways to promote creativity while providing a welcoming environment for people to work.

Pregnancy Myths Debunked @ ProMama Event
Coffee is bad for pregnant women. Pregnant women can't swim. Doing Yoga is a no no when you are pregnant.
These are just some of the common pregnancy myths that were debunked at the ProMama event held at Lolo Dads just recently with ProMama council of fit and fab moms Amanda Griffin-Jacob, Delamar Arias and Tricia Chiongbian-Concepcion who are walking testaments to the fact that life is further enriched by pregnancy.
Tricia, a known health enthusiast, still continues on with her fit lifestyle that includes running a couple of miles a day in spite of expecting her second child this September; Delamar who’s part of a popular radio show, doesn’t let morning sickness or hormones tone done her natural exuberance and humor in hosting her program; and finally, 2-time mom Amanda Griffin-Jacob hasn’t succumbed to what she calls the “mommy meltdown” and is still considered to be one of the most beautiful faces in Philippine showbiz.
To a fit and fab pregnancy
If there’s one thing that’s definitely not a myth, it’s the fact that pregnant women should take special care of their nutritional needs.
Wyeth Nutrition, makers of ProMama, understands this, and wants every woman to fully enjoy the journey of pregnancy. A nutritional milk drink designed to support women—and not just the unborn baby—during pregnancy. ProMama focuses on the life giver to address the needs of both mother and child.
“The fulcrum of each family is the mother. Without her, the family would fall apart—emotionally, mentally, physically, psychologically. Wyeth Nutrition fully acknowledges these values with ProMama, the milk that takes care of mothers so they can take care of their children,” says Anonuevo.
Only ProMama contains the Pro-Nutri Builders, ingredients that support the health and development of both mother and child during pregnancy. These include Maternal Immunity Enhancers like Beta Carotene, which has antioxidant and immunostimulatory properties, and Vitamins C, E and A, which also helps promote good vision and cellular growth.
Pro-Nutri Builders are also targeted for the growing baby. ProMama has Mental Enhancers like DHA, a nutrient important for a child’s visual and mental development; Folic Acid, which is essential for the development of the nervous system and in preventing neural tube defects; and Zinc, which assists in fetal neurodevelopment. ProMama’s formula also contains Bone and Muscle Builders such as Vitamin D, important for calcium metabolism and to support an unborn baby’s bone and teeth development; Protein, the building block of all tissues; and Calcium, which supports bone development.
ProMama, which is available in Vanilla Delight Flavor, has only 15 percent of calories from fat. Just two servings of ProMama daily can help promote appropriate weight gain during pregnancy.

Environment Friendly Mobile Medical Units
Lifeline Mobile, a quality manufacturing leader in the production of mobile medical units, provides mobile mammography, dental, medical, and laboratory units. Instead of acting as a middleman, Lifeline Mobile is the manufacturer itself meaning that prices will be reasonable and all questions will be answered by the experts themselves.
Many companies create mobile units that are simply glorified RVs and/or school buses. Lifeline Mobile instead creates truck based units that are crafted with your specific needs and program in mind. The understructure of the mobile clinics consist of four inch steel under the entire structure ensuring a firm foundation constructed to last for decades.
The ceilings are significantly higher than other company's mobile medical units giving the space the open feel of an actual office. Also, unlike other manufacturers, Lifeline Mobile uses commercial grade materials instead of residential materials to ensure that the equipment and furniture in the unit will survive the years instead of falling apart in just a year or two.
The goal of the company is to create mobile medical units that have the look and feel of a medical office. These units are equipped with handicap accessibility and private rooms to ensure confidentiality. Lifeline Mobile is dedicated to developing new ideas and products, reinvesting money back into product development to ensure continuing improvements, and continuing research to make units more effective and efficient. The company's goal is also to reduce carbon emissions, increase fuel efficiency, as well as eliminate as much noise pollution as possible.

A Weekend Full Of Activities At Mommy & Me
Summer is almost over – it's time to snatch up some worthwhile quality time with your kids before you send them off to school! Share bonding moments and enjoy activities with your little ones at Mom and Me on May 25 and 26 (from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) at Rockwell Tent, Makati – a last hurrah for the summer and the special Mommy month of May.
This event aims to foster the relationship of moms and kids through activities that both can do together. While kids can learn from independent play as it nourishes creativity and imagination and organized activities with other kids as in summer classes, when parents and kids do activities together, it gives them a common sense of purpose and a goal. Kids love receiving the affection and undivided attention of their parents, and want to be able to spend as much time with them as possible.
Let Mom and Me jumpstart your daily family play-time with a weekend full of bonding activities! The event is participated in by supporters of mom-child activities.
Choose between a relaxing yoga or fun Zumba workout sessions led by Beyond Yoga, or do both! Learn what kind of dishes you and your little tots can do together with McCormick. For something more exciting, Coach Stauro of Coach and Kids, Inc. will teach moms and kids how to kick and punch with a taekwondo demonstration. Young Artist's Studio will spark you and your little one's creativity with a workshop session on painting, drawing and coloring together.
The educational talks promise to be an enjoyable one for both moms and kids as interactive games are included in each. Ives Lim-Esteban of Halo Philippines will talk about "The ABC's of Safe Sleep" while
Dra. Michelle Daddo tackles the topic of "Healthy Moms for a Healthy Family". From Now On April Is Autism Acceptance Month
This year marks the 6th year when the United Nations declared April 2, 2013 the World Autism Awareness Day. I think since from that year to now the word has spread and now people know that there are people among us who look normal but are different and very special because of their mental challenges/ disability. Since that year people have been aware but there are still a million out there who just don't accept and understand. So from Now On April Is Autism Acceptance Month . People need to accept that there are people who are not like the average ones that there are special people everywhere we all just have to be considerate and understanding.

My (So Called) Wedding Plans
I'm not getting married, yet. Not in the near future, yet. I just found a nice wedding venue though. Something out of the ordinary church, beach or garden wedding venues. I want to get married in an art museum I just discovered last weekend. I feel so happy and invigorated in that place. There is something in the place that makes my heart skip a beat. I just love it so much.
My Wedding Venue? Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo! Look!
I don't want that regular kinda wedding, I want something different! I also want one of any of this eternity rings for women to be my wedding ring!
My wedding gown designer will be Michi Calica-Sotto of course. My groom? Who knows! Hahaha!
My Wedding Venue? Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo! Look!
On Enhanced Basic Education Act or K12 Program
Expect no primary school graduates this schoolyear 2013 because of the updated and Enhanced Basic Education Act or K12 Program in the Philippines.
Some parents don't feel good about this especially those who live below the poverty line. While some feel skeptic about this because it is just extending time of kids in school but the quality of the education is the most important part to improve in the system.
Has anyone see the new curriculum? What is your take on this new education system in the country?

U.P. Needs To Be Reminded What A Real Scholar Ng Bayan Is!
Yesterday, a shocking news came out that a 16 year old girl committed suicide because she can't pay her tuition on time on a supposedly government funded school for smartest students in the country or the scholars ng bayan. This school was supposedly a public school where students get a virtually almost free tertiary education because they are the cream of the crop from their high schools. Unfortunately, this school was no more than a poser public government funded school juicing the students and their family of their life just so they can finish their studies there.
Yes, I am talking about the University of the Philippines who has long been just a fake school for the scholars ng bayan. If students who are studying there are real scholars they won't have to be reprimanded or asked to stop schooling because they were not able to pay their tuition for 3 months because it is the university rule? They are no more like a domain name registration service who puts your domain name for auction as soon as you are not able to re-register it a month after your subscription expires. Although there are domain registry who will give you a couple months before they put your domain for auction.
But then again domain registry is a business. A school is not. So our government should be looking deep into the University of the Philippines (U.P.)classification , is it a public university or a private university? If it is a public school students who are enrolled there won't have tuition problems. Seriously. Scholars ng bayan having tuition problems?
I was a scholar ng bayan, I studied at a university with government subsidy. I did not have problems with my tuition fee there.
What I heard, U.P. went overboard with their tuition fee after some filthy rich politicians kid couldn't get in there because he didn't pass the UPCAT. That was the university rule, you can't get in there if you don't pass the UPCAT. But with this politicians money and influence in the government he was able to twist and bend some rules which gave way to rich not so genius kids to get in because they have the money! This is also the reason behind this stupid review schools you need to enroll on for those high school graduates who want to get in U.P. and those other prestigious private schools. This is to give the rich kids who wants to put in their biodata that they graduated in one of the country's supposedly BEST University for the BEST Scholars ng Bayan!
In my opinion U.P. needs to be reminded what is a scholar ng bayan. There shouldn't be another 16 year old girl die because she can't pay her tuition.

Affordable ShapeWear from Lady Grace Intimates
I always thought expensive is always the best when it comes to undergarments. In fact, I never bought an underwear that is not a well-known brand so when I was invited at the Lady Grace Intimates: An Intimate Event with Diana Meneses I didn't know what to expect but that the fact about the new endorser and about the underwear. I did not expect that this brand was 50 years in the business already and that they have super affordable shapewear that is comfy and snug and quality is just amazing!

I'm Not A Fan Of The Starbucks Planner. Period!
Let me tell you a story about a Starbucks counter girl who was so tactless and quickly judge me in just a few minutes after taking my order of a simple Grande Pepermint Mocha and a doughnut and I declined her offer for a sticker to collect so I can get my hands on the so-called "most coveted" planner in the country. Duh!
Starbucks Counter Girl (SCG): Ma'am do you collect stickers?
Me: No.
SCG: Why ma'am you are not a fan of our planners? Or you don't plan?
Me: What?
SGC: Hehe!
Me: No. I use digital planners because I'm an environmentalist. Stoopid! (no, I didn't say stoopid out loud but I wish I did!)
SGC: Oh! (and she went on talking about their planner that people rave so much about it everyone wants to have it bla bla and that she will still give me a collect a sticker card in case I change my mind)
DUH!
Stoopid girl. If she was not pregnant and I was in a bad mood. She would have heard from me or have experienced the same as that Lady Guard and that Amalayer Girl. Good for her I was in a good mood and I don't want to stoop to her level, so I let her pass.
This incident happened at Starbucks Fully Booked at Fort Bonifacio Global City in High Street Taguig. This happened in December 2012 and the girl had short hair and was pregnant then, I dunno if she gave birth now o is on leave . While being chatty with the customers is good, counter people should also be mindful of what they say because sometimes they can be really tactless and offensive.
xoxoxo
Planners, Planners, Everywhere but do you actually bring it everywhere you go, fill it up and use the coupons inside?
There are a hundred of types of planners out there. Each end of the year, every cafe, store, banks, etc. have one to give to their customers or as collectibles. While they all look cute. Most of them are too bulky to be carried around anywhere you go.
Why would I actually need a heavy and bulky planner when I have my Galaxy Tab, and my HTC Phone with me where I can write down my events and plans for the day. It is most convenient as it can alert me of a schedule I have a day, an hour or a minute before it happens. A paper back bulky planner does not have that feature.
I also like to have my planner personalized as I can. In fact I used to make my own planner. Handmade and crafted with love. I'm artsy like that.
But now that I am practicing to recycle and waste too much paper or plastic, I decided not to make those planners anymore or collect one for they will just collect dust on my book shelf or table.

Refrigirator Maintenance
I'm sure most of you experienced overstocking your refrigirators last Christmas with left over meals and other food products. Admit it or not, our refs are often neglected and some food are left in there until they are rotten and full of mildew. It happens when we are too busy with other chores and always put cleaning the fridge for the other day when we are not too busy.
I have to admit my fridge had suffered a lot of damages because of carelessness. The glass compartment separating the vegetable broke and well, I don't know where to find parts for it so I let it be. I'm now looking at frigidaire refrigerator parts in this accessories site of frigidaire but haven't seen he part I needed. However, I found some fridge accessories that I can use with my ref like the odor control disk that will ease out those unpleasant smell from the forgotten foods I store inside. I am also interested with the touch up-pen that comes in four colors, silver, white, black and glacier that will hide all the scratch on the surfaces easily without having to ask for a whole body repaint! Isn't that convenient! I'm also interested with that Pure Air carbon filter to control the unpleasant smell in the fridge.
Aside from these accessories they also have dairy covers, ice trays, wine racks that can comes in all sizes and will fit all types of fridge size.
The site is very user friendly, they have the buying guide so you can get the right size and specifications you needed for your fridgidaire!
Aside from refs they also products for washing machine, freezers and other kitchen and laundry furnishings and machines. Problem is they are only available in US, Canada and Mexico! Which will make me go to my nearest hardware store of refs and aircondition center to find parts I needed..

Something For Your Tired Damaged Feet
My daughter likes to walk barefoot around the house. She's flat footed and she stomps and jumps like it doesn't hurt her. I tried what she does and ouch! She doesn' t really care or doesn't hve a clear concept of pain. She's just a jumpy girl and you can't stop her! Because of her carelessness her soles suffered a lot. Cracked heels and callouses everywhere. I can't even imagine how it got that way but I m not surprised her feet does really take a lot of beating from her. Plus the fact that the cool weather does contribute for our skin to get really chapped and dry. I am glad Watson's gave me the Le Couvent Des Minimes gift pack for Christmas and it included the Hiker's Foot Healer in it. I've been using it on my daughter's feet since then and I see the wonderful effect it does on her foot. Here are the 5 Things To Love About The Le Couvent Des Minimes Hiker’s Foot Healer – A Review.
