Keep Mosquitoes at Bay During the Rainy Season

By now, you’ve lived in the tropics long enough to realize that between the shifting seasons and humidity, insects are another force to be reckoned with. It’s easy enough to deal with—just slather on some insect repellent and you can keep mosquitoes at bay throughout the day.
Is it however, safe for children? It’s a question that parents carefully consider, particularly when the rainy season rolls around and the need to prevent bites from mosquitoes and other insects rises.
While most are all too eager to use insect repellents on themselves, most do not realize that doing the same for younger children—who probably would benefit from them the most—can go a long way in preventing allergic reactions from insect bites and insect-borne diseases such as Dengue.
And while using insect repellents seem simple enough, it would be best to follow these brief guidelines to make sure that you and your kids are safe.
  • Remember that not all insect repellents are created equal. For children, it’s best to choose brands that have been tested safe for children as young as 6 months and are mild and hypoallergenic.
  • One of the safest insect repellent to use on your Kids are DEET-free, at the same time should provide atleast 8 hours of protection. Be worry free when your kids are in school, during playtime or sleeping. Opt for a brand that offer these features.
  • In addition to the application of an insect repellent, you can dress children in thin, loose-fitting clothing in muted colors. Encourage them to wear socks and shoes instead of sandals. Be mindful of where you let your kids play as well.

Given the guidelines mentioned, Bite Block easily meets the criteria of protection, safety and efficacy that anyone seeks in an insect repellent. The brand has two available variants – with one specially formulated for kids as young as 6months, Bite Block Kids, and another Bite Block Daily, with its mild formulation and affordability allowing user to apply more frequently.
Remember that when it comes to protecting children, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Be sure to follow these basic guidelines and keep yourself worry-free and your kids safe.
Bite Block is available in 50ml, 100ml, 5mlx5 tradebox and 5ml sachets in leading supermarkets and drugstores nationwide.
